🧪 What is a sandbox?

Your free trial starts in a sandbox — a private, fully working copy of Pawprints where you can try everything out with no risk.

It's for trying things out

The sandbox works exactly like the real software, so you can add fake (pretend) patients, book practice appointments, and click through every feature to see how it fits your practice. It’s meant for testing — we recommend using made-up information rather than real client or patient records while you explore.

Nothing sticks unless you want it to

While you’re in the sandbox, nothing is official yet. You can reset and start fresh as many times as you like during your trial — that clears the test clients, patients, appointments, and drug-log entries you’ve entered and gives you a clean slate (your settings, team, and drug list stay). So feel free to experiment.

Going live makes it official

When you’re ready, you can go live by confirming your subscription. At that point, whatever was in your sandbox becomes your official, permanent record — and, as required for controlled-substance recordkeeping, drug-log entries can no longer be deleted. The “reset” option goes away once you’re live.

So, before you go live…

If you’ve only been testing with pretend data, use Reset & start fresh first so you begin live with a clean slate. If you’ve already entered real records you want to keep, you don’t have to do anything — going live keeps everything exactly as it is.
